ABOUT US :

Socialdemocracy, as an idea first appeared in the world in the second half of the 19th Century and the first socialdemocratic party was established in the 1869 ( the German Socialdemocratic labor party), while in Montenegro the beginning of the organizational establishment of the socialdemocratic idea and the foundation of the Socialdemocratic Party of Montenegro matches with the first manifestations of organized resistance towards nationalistic euphoria which have in the late 80's of the past Century overwhelmed and later on destroyed the formal Socialistic Federative republic of Yugoslavia, at that time a world wide respectable state.  
Since the establishment of the Socialdemocratic Party of Montenegro as a modern left oriented party in 1993 which is the only full member of the Socialist International from the territory of ex-SRY there has been a youth organization whose establishment was formalized in 1999.

Socialdemocratic Youth of Montenegro has grown into being a lider of youth political engagement in our country by its active involvement in all spheres of the Montenegrin political life.
We are convinced that freedom, justice and solidarity are core human values and the basic condition of progress and we find them to be our greatest ideals and the primer goals of our actions.
Due to that we will invest our efforts in the time that is jet to come to enclose politics to youth and explain to that that it doesn't have to be dull but on the contraire - the complete opposite!
We are fighting for a better position of youth in the society while having fun doing it! We are standing for further affirmation of young people and the change of mutual awareness towards them due to the fact that that relation should be based on thrust and adequate inclusion f youth into political, economic and other parts of constitution of a stable, just and free society.

The main goal of our policies is a  free, secure and economically autonomous citizen and we were aware how that goal was unachievable without a state of our own. Now, when we have finally achieved the dream that we dreamed for almost a Century and gained our own state we will firmly give in into promoting and implementing socialdemocratic ideas and principles that have already concur Europe. We will stick to the social-justice agenda, establishment of adequate institutions, creation and implementation of rules based on EU standards and values, sustainable development and especially on sustainable and responsible use of resources which will help us enforce a strong middle class which is the basic of every stable society and a good base for progress of young people.
We are proud that our colleagues from other youth politic organizations with similar orientation have recognized us and supported Socialdemocratic Youth of Montenegro as the truth representative of Montenegro which wasn’t the silent witness of killing people and towns, which was never involved in robberies but always maintaining the hope for our generation and for Montenegro in which we believed that it can be a reliable partner in the process of building a free, active and just society.

Join us so that we could all together build a model that would open the space for young people so that they can right after they finish with their education take over active positions on all levels of decision-making.
